Bessent worked for Soros, not Bezos. The US $ is losing its luster as a reserve currency. 50 years ago it was 85% and today it is 58%. I write about this a lot. read my recent pieces on the subject.
The news today on China is promising. No details yet. Trump spoke of 80%. That is a disaster and makes China uncompetitive. You are right in your analysis about the impact of the depreciation of the US$ but you need to look at it over time. Since 1988 it is unchanged vs DXY. Yes, as high as almost 120 and as low as 78 but is at 100 now and was 40 years ago. Counties are less concerned about short term moves in the US$ that can quickly rebound if the tariff debacle is largely solved
THANKS. Appreciate it
